Picture this – its June 21st, all COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, and you can finally delve into your favourite sequel: The After series alongside a cinematic experience, and to add to your excitement, ‘After We Fell’ the third movie, is being set to be released this year. Josephine Langford stars in the series, alongside co-star and heartthrob Hero Fiennes Tiffin, where they play the relationship of the dynamic duo of Tessa Young and Hardin Scott. The Australian actress has let it slip that we can expect a lot more “excitement, pace and intensity” to come from the sequel.  The franchise has hit the world by storm and is based on the original book series written by Anna Todd.

The 23-year-old got her first leading role in 2017, alongside Ryan Phillippe, in the horror film ‘Wish Upon’, she has stated that her best piece of acting advice given to her throughout her career is “being in the moment”.

After We Collided has been compared to the ‘50 Shades of Grey’ triology, as of their similar sensual and erotic scenes. Dakota Johnson who played a leading role in the movie has said in an interview that she hoped the ‘After’ franchise would empower women to be more confident in the workplace and in relationships, Langford agrees, thinking it is “great she has said that” and has revealed that she has been told by Anna that she has “girls messaging her and telling her the stories about how the books helped them talk about something with their family, or get out of a situation, or just grow as a human being”. The aussie beaut later went on to say, “the reality is the stories have helped so many young women gain a sense of like confidence and decreased shame around the topic of sexuality”.

Within After there were a lot less erotic scenes than in the original fanfiction, which is not the case for the second movie. When asked about what fans can expect from the sequel, Josephine voiced “I’m sure there were some scenes that were in the second book that we’ve cut”, she laughs, nervously. Moving on from the question, the star went on to say, “I think fans can just expect tonally a different experience to the first movie and the way we’re telling this story it’s a little older and it’s just different than how we told the first”.

Has playing Tessa changed Langford? Has it made her learn something new? The actress admitted “when something becomes your new normal it can just be difficult to figure out what like has changed but yeah I think just in my life I’ve learnt so much more about how a set works and the roles behind the scenes of the industry and there’s so much with that and yeah I think every character you play teaches you something I’m not sure I can put it into words but its taught me it though, I might figure it out later”.

As forgiveness is a massive theme throughout the series, we are all dying to know the big question -  if Tessa will forgive Hardin, however, the 23-year-old isn’t giving much away as of yet as she states abruptly, “I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!”.
